Long Distance Shipping
So you live in another state and driving is just not an option to get your pup to you? Dont worry we ship all the time. I handle all arrangements. We have to make sure you are close to a major airport that I can get the puppy to you and the temperatures are not to extreme hot or cold.
Shipping: We are comfortable shipping a puppy to you. We have done this many times and feel it is safe and helpful when it is impossible to drive to pick up puppy. In some cases the flight takes less time than a road trip and can be less stressful on the puppy. A 12 hour road trip can cause one car sick puppy, compared to a 4 hour flight. The pups must be at least 8 weeks old before they can be shipped by any airline.
Almost all the time we ship by America Airline where it is cheaper and more convient for both me and you.
When puppy is shipped there are 3 things that must be purchased with the expense going to you, the pet buyer. This is in addition to the purchase price:
1. A medium size carrier that you get to keep and can even use for a period of time to house train your puppy. $25
2. A health certificate of travel is required for your puppy to be able to fly. This certificate of travel is giving by a licensed Veterinarian and accompanies your puppy to you. This record is for you. This record is for you to take to your veterinarian. $50
3. Lastly the airfare. $225
Total cost of shipping is $300. Please send me an email with the name of the 2 closet airports or call me. We have to make sure we can get him/her to you. Alaska is double the airfare as they have to use 2 different airlines to get them there. WE DO NOT SHIP TO CANADA. We at Twilight puppies recognize the seriousness when dealing with the temperatures both below and above a safe temperature for puppy to fly in. The air lines have a 'NO-FLY EMBARGO' if the temperature is above 85 degree's or below 25 degree's in any city in which the plane is taking off.
Picking-up Your Pup
Expect your pup to be a little scared when you pick her/him up. They usually always calm down and are back to normal within a day, some are very very active at first. They just need time and a lot of special attention. They are insecure because they have been taken away from their security--their littermates. They must go through this whether they are picked up or shipped. They are pretty resiliant and once they realize their security is you, they are happy and content again. You may consider bringing a towel or handy wipes, the pup may be need to be cleaned up a little before the drive home. Not all pups handle the trip perfectly. I will send all paperwork/packet prior to puppy via postal mail as soon as final payment is received which can take up to 5 days to receive. Airlines will not allow anything but food & water shipped with the puppy.
You will need to check with your airport on where for sure to pick up the pup, either baggage claim or cargo. Usually it is baggage claim, but I have had a few buyers not call prior and panic when pup was not there...the pup was actually at the cargo so please call to save yourself the stress. If there is a problem when picking up the pup, please check with the airline for assistance with the confirmation or information you are given because you most likely will get quicker and better results being that you will be at the airport and have more of an access with airline. Please check with airlines before calling me, if there is something that should occur so that you can get the information first hand.
Once the pup is dropped off at the airport, it is out of my hands and I have no control.
You will need a 2 forms of identification when picking up the pup. The name on the paperwork is who most likely who they will only release the pup to. If someone else is picking up the pup, you will need to let me know the name so that I can make note on the paperwork. If you do not, then most likely the airline will not release the pup. This also if there has been a change. This is all for your own protection, so that someone else cannot claim your pup.
I hope this information helped you out greatly and answered any questions you may had.
